INNOVATING FOR IMPACT
Curbing methane emissions with DIT AgTech
DIT AgTech is currently working with Verra – the world’s most widely used voluntary emissions reduction certifier – to develop a project and methodology that will allow producers to claim carbon credits by methane emissions avoidance.
Our uDOSE supplement delivery system can feed methane-reducing supplements to cattle via drinking water while accurately measuring and recording consumption data.
We are close to gaining approval from Verra to include water dosing technology (uDOSE) as a delivery mechanism for methane reducing feed additives under the VM0041 Methodology.
Producers can already start feeding a methane-reducing supplement (uPRO BLUE) to livestock using the uDOSE system.
Once we register our project with Verra, producers will also be able to claim carbon credits for their methane emission avoidance efforts. Any methane previously reduced via uDOSE will be claimable in retrospect.
CQUni Research Study: Water-Based Livestock Methane Mitigation
The ‘Water-Based Livestock Methane Mitigation’ project is a research collaboration between DIT AgTech and CQ University, funded by Meat & Livestock Australia.
Currently in vivo, the project is examining a range of methane-reducing compounds to determine if they can be safely and effectively delivered to cattle via automated water systems to decrease enteric methane emissions.
